Shahroz Ahmad. Shaz to everyone who presses play. Producer, rapper and product designer from New Delhi, born in a town most maps forget.
Beats by Shaz started in 2017 as handwriting in a notebook and a promise that sounded too big for the room it was written in: industry grade beats that blend emotion and precision. The room was small. The promise held.
The style came from listening at a distance: warm chords, drums that drag a little behind the beat, music that sounds like memory. Lo-fi and chillhop first, hip-hop bones always. Artists on every continent have taken these instrumentals and made them their own, which remains the entire point.
In 2019 a protest song called Kabool Kro left the bedroom under his own name and reached fifty thousand people in three days. The whole story is told properly on Side A and in the liner notes.

The Rapper
As Rapper Shaz: lyricism with a spine. Kabool Kro reached fifty thousand people in three days in 2019 and proved a bedroom in Delhi can be loud enough to matter.
The Designer
